This battery box is a direct bolt-in replacement for 1946-1956 WILLYS trucks, as well as some other models from that era.
Due to battery acid and moisture under the hood, battery trays are notorious for having corrosion issues. If you check your truck, the tray is most likely either rusted through or has a layer (or two) of sheet metal dropped in it as a quick fix. This aftermarket design solves the corrosion issue by including a flared drain hole, as well as powder coating that’s been applied by a local professional.
It also includes a heavy-duty steel strap, J-bolts, and wing nuts for securing your battery. The addition of mounting holes on all four sides makes it capable of securing your battery in either direction, depending on the post locations of your battery.
